“FORMALDEHYDE”: YOUR FIRST TASTE OF THE NEW AND IMPROVED SIX FEET UNDER

At last, the new and improved Six Feet Under — which not only features vocalist Chris Barnes (duh) but also former Chimaira guitarist Rob Arnold and former/current every band in the world drummer Kevin Talley — have unveiled “Formaldehyde,” the first single from their new album, Undead. (Plus some pretty sweet cover art.) You can stream it below and then take comfort/despair in the knowledge that it’s very much indicative of what the rest of the album sounds like. Undead is really like no other Six Feet Under album ever made, which is probably why it’s the best Six Feet Under album ever made. It basically Cannibal Corpse’s The Bleeding as filtered through the mind of Arnold, which makes sense — the guitarist professes that The Bleeding one of his favorite albums of all time. In any case, that’s not a bad thing; on the contrary, it’s a very, very good thing.

Check out “Formaldehyde” below. You can now pre-order Undead here. It comes out May 22 via Metal Blade. In June, the band goes on tour with Dying Fetus and Revocation; you can get dates here.
