DID YOU GO TO METALLICA’S ORION MUSIC + MORE FESTIVAL? HOW WAS IT?

Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival was this weekend. I didn’t go, nor did anyone else who calls the MS Mansion home, although we have some pals who did venture down to Atlantic City.

My Facebook and Twitter feeds weren’t alight with the kind of action I’d expect from an event of this magnitude. I saw a few pics of Metallica, a couple of Black Dahlia Murder, and that’s pretty much it. Was everyone too busy having a good time to Tweet about it or was there just a general lack of excitement about this thing?

Did any of you guys go? Was it well-attended? What was the general vibe of the place? Did you catch any of the awesome non-metal acts on the bill? Did you check out any of the extraneous BS like James’ car show and Lars’ movie tent?

All snarkiness aside, I am glad this event happened; the U.S. needs more open-air festivals like this one, and that it’s based around metal (even if it isn’t all metal) is a great thing.
