JOB FOR A RED CHORDBOY

Bad news: Job for a Cowboy are about to start Summer Slaughter in support of Demonocracy, their strongest offering yet and one of the best albums of 2012 so far — and now bassist Nick Schendzielos “will be forced to sit out part of the run” because his girlfriend has been injured in a head-on scooter accident, according to a press release.

But there’s a silver lining: The Red Chord guitarist Mike “Gunface” McKenzie will be filling-in until Schendzielos’ return. I’ve never seen McKenzie play bass before, but I’m willing to bet he knows how he’s doing. And there’s already been some JFAC/Red Chord cross-over in the past — Cowboy drummer Jon “The Charn” Rice toured with The Red Chord last year, and did a kick-ass job, too… so it’s safe to assume that he and McKenzie are compatible in terms of their playing.

There’s no word yet on exactly how much of the tour Schendzielos will miss, but his girlfriend is going to need “24/7 supervision for at least two weeks,” so McKenzie should be around for awhile. Get Summer Slaughter dates here.
