INSTRU-METAL NERD TOUR ALERT: TRIOSCAPES AND SCALE THE SUMMIT ANNOUNCE FALL DATES

Trioscapes

2012 has been a fruitful year for fusion-metal records, but not so much for fusion-metal tours: of the four fusion-y “metal” acts to release underwear-moistening records this year — T.R.A.M., Trioscapes, Felix Martin and Mörglbl — not a one of them toured the U.S. in the first half of the year.

Trioscapes will finally bring their funky, proggy, metal-infused jams on the road this September with fellow instru-metalists Scale the Summit. How Trioscapes bassist Dan Briggs found time for these dates is a modern marvel — whatwith a new Between the Buried and Me album on the horizon, the latter’s appearance on Summer Slaughter and all the worldwide touring that will surely follow — but I admire the band’s tenacity for seizing the opportunity to utilize what must’ve been an incredibly narrow window. My eardrums and dancing shoes are also very happy that Briggs refuses to accept any downtime. And that the always-excellent Scale the Summit will headline makes the news even more exciting. 09/14 Nashville, TN – TBA (no Trioscapes)
09/15 Dayton, OH – Spitfire
09/16 Toronto, ON – Wreck Room
09/17 Montreal, QC – Le Sala Rosa
