HERE ARE SOME PLOT DETAILS FOR BILL & TED 3

You guys, I think they may actually make this Bill & Ted 3 movie. Last week, they hired a director, and while Keanu Reeves — a.k.a. “Ted” Theodore Logan — tells GQ that the project still doesn’t have a green light, he is willing to share the basic premise of the story, elaborating on elements he and co-star Alex Winter have revealed in the past:

“One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven’t done it. So everybody is kind of like: ‘Where is the song?’ The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock. And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future ‘us’ refuses to tell us, and another future ‘us’ blames us for their lives because we didn’t write the song, so they’re living this terrible life. In one version we’re in jail; in another we’re at some kind of highway motel and they hate us.”

Which actually sounds to me like a pretty good way to tell a story about these characters even though they’re way, way older than they were when they last played these guys (Reeves and Winter were 27 and 26, respectively, when they made Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey; they’re now 48 and 47).

What do you think? Is this starting to sound like a good idea, or would a new Bill & Ted adventure be totally bogus?
