Geoff Tate’s Not-Really-Queensrÿche to Perform Operation: Mindcrime in Full on Tour

Maybe this is why guitarist Shawn Glen Drover has already quit Geoff Tate’s Axl Rose-ified Queensrÿche: this new band will perform the real band’s classic Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety on tour in the spring, which will mark the release’s twenty-fifth anniversary.

Look, as I’ve said before, I was never the biggest Queensrÿche fan — so I am seriously asking this question: DOES ANYONE WANT TO SEE THIS VERSION OF THE BAND DO THIS ALBUM? I mean, this is pretty much the stupidest idea ever, isn’t it? You’re basically going to see the singer from the album and just a bunch of dudes. To whom might this appeal? People who really, really like guys who look like Mr. Clean with a porn-star goatee?

Feel free to let me know I’m wrong and you think this is an awesome idea in the comments section below. In the meantime, here are the dates that have been announced thus far, courtesy of Metal Insider. I might update the itinerary as more dates are added, but I probably won’t because I really just do not give a turd.
