Sevendust/Lacuna Coil Tour Won’t Include Coal Chamber After All?

A couple of weeks ago, Sevendust’s Clint Lowery gave an interview where he announced that Sevendust would be touring with Lacuna Coil and Coal Chamber; now that tour has officially been announced, and Coal Chamber aren’t on the bill. I don’t know if this meands that 7D fans who don’t like Coal Chamber (like some certain snarky metal bloggers I know) are out of the woods altogether or not — it’s possible that when Lowery said Lacuna Coil and Coal Chamber, he didn’t mean on the same tour, so there could still be a Coal Dust trek in our future. It’s also worth noting this lil’ tidbit from Metal Insider:

“We sent a tweet to the [Dez Fafara] for comment. While neither confirming or denying that Coal Chamber would be joining the tour, he quickly responded ‘Don’t you worry – JUST HANG TIGHT.’”

So that’s not very promising. Ugh.

But for now, at least, we can all rest a little easier knowing there is no chance of having to hear “Loco” in order to hear “Denial.” Of course, the third band on the bill now is Avatar, who aren’t really good, either, but they go on first and will be easy to miss should you so choose.

In related news, Sevendust have announced a March 26 for their new album, Black Out the Sun; the first single, “Decay,” is expected to be released on January 22. And as if all that wasn’t enough, they played a snippet of a new song — I’m not sure of the title — during a recent show in Florida. You can watch that video below; the song starts around the 1:15 mark.
