HIM Will Be the End of You

I have not done a very good job of paying attention to HIM in their post-Love Metal years; I remember finding Dark Light really boring and thinking Venus Doom was pretty good, but I guess not good enough for me to remember it because I honestly could not hum a single song from the album for you. Truth be told, I can’t really remember the last time I listened to any HIM at all. I guess I wasn’t a hardcore enough fan to stick with them through one bumpy patch.

Will this year’s eventually-to-be-released new album, Tears on Tape, win me back? The below fan-filmed footage of a new song, “I Will Be the End of You,” does not suggest this to be the case. The song is fine, but it’s nothing special. Also, Ville Valo sounds FUCKING AWFUL. I dunno if he was just having an off-night or this is what he sounds like now or what, but this is kind of embarrassing.

Tears on Tape should be out in the spring.
