The Black Dahlia Murder Are Back in the Studio!

0

The Black Dahlia Murder are total pro workhorses: they’ve released a new album almost exactly every two years going all the way back to their very first release in 2003. That’s really impressive given their busy touring schedule, and even moreso given the fact that they’ve been especially prone to member swaps. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the definition of what it’s like to be a working metal band in the new era. No rest for the wicked.

And they’re showing no signs of letting up their relentless pace of record, tour, repeat: Metal Injection has confirmed that The Black Dahlia Murder just began tracking drums their next album with Eyal Levi in Detroit. Guitars and vocals will be recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Florida. Levi posted the below photos on his Facebook page with the captions “Black Dahlia day one” and “Black Dahlia day two,” respectively:

Assuming tracking will be finished this month it’s totally reasonable to expect this album to be out by June, meaning TBDM’s two-year pace will be kept perfectly intact. Also: new Black Dahlia music! Get excitebike.

No word yet on who the band has tapped to replace recently departed drummer Shannon Lucas, although ex-Abigail Williams drummer Alan Cassidy — who toured with the band this past summer — remains a likely candidate.

An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that the current tracking was taking place at Audiohammer in Florida. The drums are currently being recorded in Detroit, while vocal and guitar tracking will take place later at Audiohammer.
