99 42 Heavily Discounted All-Access Badges for Philip Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Film & Music Festival Available
Good news! The inaugural Housecore Horror Film & Music Festival — the new fest founded by MetalSucks’ own Corey Mitchell and some guy named Philip Anselmo — has released 99 all-access badges for $99, a hundred bucks off the suggested retail price of $199!
The fest, which will take place in Austin, Texas, from October 25-27, 2013, is shaping up to an unmissable event for any fan of horror and extreme music. Here’s an official description of the event:
“The Housecore Horror Film Festival will feature dozens of horror films from the past, present, and future. Included will be horror classics, current genre favorites, high-budget Hollywood horrors, clips from soon-to-be-released features, as well as the most visceral underground frights you have never seen.
“In addition, former Pantera frontman, Philip Anselmo, will be inviting many of his musical mates to hit the Emo’s East stage every night.
“For now, we will only confirm that the Southern metal supergroup Down, which consists of Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint Ritual), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Kingdom of Salvation), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual), and Patrick Bruders (Crowbar, Goatwhore), will be headlining one night of HHFF.
“Several more top-tier metal acts will be announced in the coming months!
“We are also proud to announce that three legendary underground horror film directors will be coming to Austin to screen several of their films on 35mm. Two of these creative minds have already been announced and include guerilla filmmaker Jim VanBebber (The Manson Family, Deadbeat at Dawn) and Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik 1 & 2, Schramm), all the way from Berlin, Germany.
“Our third special guest director is confirmed, but we are holding off on announcing his or her name. It will be the first time this director has been to the United States in nearly twenty years!
“In addition to the more than 50 horror feature films, short films, and documentaries on seven screens and three nights of pulsating heavy metal, you will experience a full-blown Halloween extravaganza. From a haunted corridor designed and built by the world famous House of Shock haunted house team, to a real-life outdoor drive-in theater, to tattooist extraordinaire Paul Booth, to a rare bloody poster emporium, to world renowned best-selling true crime and horror authors signing and discussing their books, to guest celebrities including actors, directors, screenwriters and more, the Housecore Horror Film Festival will provide you with all of the horrifying Halloween frights your black heart could ever desire.”
So, basically, you’re looking at any horror and metal fan’s wet dream of a long weekend. I have little doubt that it’s going to be ridiculously fun.
