The influence of the Xavante natives of Brazil upon Sepultura’s Roots (a.k.a. “Another album everyone but me seems to love”) — heck, there’s one right there on the cover. And yet somehow, this 1996 video of the band actually spending time with the Xavante people during the making of Roots has never surface before now. And I actually find it to be considerably more interesting than the finished album itself. I appreciate that the band went to such lengths for their art… I just wish that art had ended up sounding less like nu-metal, y’know?

Anyways, you really should watch this. It’s not in English so I have no idea what they’re saying, but it’s still pretty fascinating:
