Infectious Grooves

Infectious Grooves, who definitely fall under the header of “bands I dunno why I don’t listen to more often,” are going to reunite at this year’s edition of the Metallica Orion Music + More Festival. In case it somehow isn’t obvious, Rob Trujillo is the common element between ‘Tallica and Grooves, so presumably he had something to do with hooking this up. In any case, it’s hard to imagine this won’t be one of the fest’s highlights this year.

Especially ’cause of this strange little twist: although Trujillo, vocalist Mike Muir, and drummer Stephen Perkins are all on board, guitarist Adam Siegel is sitting the reunion out. He’ll be replaced by former Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin… who, incidentally, was left out of the FNM reunion. Now a successful pumpkin farmer, Martin came out of hiding this past November to do an online Q&A, and now there’s this. I guess the dude missed the spotlight! Not gonna lie, I’m beyond curious to see what a 2013 Jim Martin performance looks and sounds like.

Here’s a video interview of Trujillo discussing the reunion:

The Orion Music + More Festival will take place on June 8 and 9 in Detroit.
