This is the Lineup for the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour

uproartourThe Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour — the hard rock-themed little brother to the older and heavier Mayhem Tour (2013 lineup here) — has announced its 2013 lineup. And it’s not bad!

Alice in Chains will headline, which is probably worth the price of admission in and of itself (as long as said price isn’t too much more than an AiC solo date). Jane’s Addiction, Coheed and Cambria and Circa Survive will round out the main stage lineup. I look at Coheed’s presence on this bill as nice “added value:” I probably wouldn’t pay to see them solo, but I’d definitely watch their set if I happened to be at a show they’re playing. Circa Survive are an intriguing band I feel roughly the same way about as I do Coheed, except I’m less into their catalog overall. Which leaves Jane’s Addiction. I haven’t seen Jane’s live in about a decade, and reports indicate their recent live shows have been lacking in energy. But I adore the band’s music and would certainly give them another shot.

There’s a second stage, too, and that stage will feature Walking Papers, Danko Jones, Middle Class Rut, New Politics and The Chuck Shaffer Picture Show. The only band I’ve heard of out of all of those is Danko Jones; I’ve liked the one or two songs of theirs I’ve heard over the years OK but I’ve never really gotten into the band. In other words, if I go to this thing I am probably going to skip the second stage for the most part.
