Things Still Aren’t “Funny” for The Dillinger Escape Plan
Hopefully you got to hear the BBC’s stream of the new Dillinger Escape Plan song “Nothing’s Funny” last week before it got yanked, but in case you didn’t — and even if you did, but you just wanna hear it again — that song is now officially available for all to hear via YouTube.
As Axl said last week, this track veers a bit more towards the melodious side of the Dillinger spectrum, so if you hate “Black Bubblegum” and only like the band at their most frenetic this one’s probably not for you. I really happen to dig this tune. Greg’s got a great singing voice and it’s always good to hear him exercising it, and the track’s good in all sorts of other ways, not the least of which: dat bass in the verse! Of course never is anything just straight-forward with this band… there are plenty of Dillingerian twists and turns here.
One of Us is the Killer comes out May 14 on Party Smasher/Sumerian. The band is on tour with The Faceless and Royal Thunder right now; get dates here.
