David DiSanto from Vektor Returns Home

TEMPE — Fans crowded the streets this afternoon to welcome home Vektor vocalist/guitarist David DiSanto, who had been wrongfully imprisoned for a grueling three days.

DiSanto was arrested in Memphis on Saturday for allegedly assaulting a Christian protester with the contents of a cup of beer. Although rumors persisted that DiSanto had actually engaged an undercover police officer to throw the beer for him, DiSanto and his bandmates maintained the musician’s innocence during the entirety of his gruelling captivity.

DiSanto was not available for comment at the time we went to press, he did receive some kind words from another heavy metal superstar who underwent a similar ordeal — Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe. Blythe posted on his personal blog:

“I thought what I went through in Prague last summer was intense — but David DiSanto is clearly some kind of He-Man for enduring the horrible calamity. I tip my soul patch to him.”

We know one thing is for sure: political oppression has always been a ripe topic for metal lyrics, and DiSanto will now have plenty to write about when it comes time to record the next Vektor album.
