Exclusive Track Premiere: Unkind’s “Valtakunta”

Unkind - Pelon Jurret

Have Finland’s Unkind created yet ANOTHER new subgenre of extreme music? The band calls their music hardcore, which isn’t wrong, exactly, so much as it just not quite descriptive enough. Honestly, I can’t think of any better way to categorize their new album, Pelon Juuret (it means “the roots of fear”), other than “blackened d-beat.” If Blake Judd wrote a Disfear album, it would probably sound a lot like Pelon Juuret.

As you can guess, we love it. It’s like fighting against a strongman whose fists are made of fire, so you not only get pummeled, but also burned to a blackened crisp. A++++ WDBWA.

MetalSucks is proud to debut  the new Unkind track “Valtakunta,” which you can stream below. Its name aside, we think metal fans will find the tune to be very kind indeed.

Pelon Juuret comes out July 9 on Relapse; pre-order it here!
