Too Soon? Anso DF’s Best of 2013… So Far

Dudes like us can lie to ourselves about our feelings, fortunes, and future, but our music is a dose of reality. I mean, sometimes u don’t know your own vibe until u review your current rotation of jamz: There are patterns and they do not lie. Discerning those patterns, u think to yourself, Damn it turns out that I am suppressing a destructive outburst, and fleeing reality for fanciful mysticism, and um staving off those two things with drugz. This is super-clear to u because, of your 2013 favorites (so far), eight are scum black metal from hell (and with some measure of death metalisms); three are gauzy occult rock; three are catchy, mournful stoner metal. (And one is um Voivod.) So basicallyyyyy: few displays of precision or virtuosity. Little production. Nearly zero positivity. No turning back.
