Shat Brack Rounds 5-8

You voted, and the results of yesterday’s initial group of match-ups are in: Metallica trounced Impending Doom, Slipknot trounced Coal Chamber, and Arch Enemy trounced Rings of Saturn. But while only one fight — Avenged Sevenfold Vs. Burzum — was close, well… it was a real nail biter! At various points during the past day, it has seemed at different times as though each artist might win. In the end, it was Burzum who emerged victorious, by a very, VERY narrow victory of less than a hundred votes! Better luck next time, A7X.

Which bands will join yesterday’s four victors in the next round? Vote below!!! The polls for these rounds close at 4:30 pm EST tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10.

TRIVIUM VS. KILLSWITCH ENGAGETrivium vs KsE

If Trivium and Killswitch Engage’s detractors are to be believed, these bands have committed all of metal’s greatest sins: “They’re just ripping off [insert older, better band here]!” “They don’t sound exactly the way they used to!” “They’re too popular!” “Roadrunner isn’t even a metal label anymore!” Are these really reasons for these poor dudes to take flak? Decide which should get a flak jacket by voting below!!!

CRADLE OF FILTH VS. MOTIONLESS IN WHITECoF vs MiW

Neither Cradle of Filth nor Motionless in White were the first band to put on make-up and court sullen teenage cutters — but they may be two of the most loathed.

SIX FEET UNDER VS. EMMURESFU vs Emmure

Both commonly criticized for allegedly making overly-simplistic metal for meatheads, Six Feet Under and Emmure keep truckin’ on largely in part to the antics of their colorful weed-head frontmen. But who really cares about stinky dreadlocks, flat-brimmed baseball caps, and strong political beliefs (e.g. legalize weed, aliens are keeping us enslaved via vast governmental conspiracies, etc.) when you can get your MOSH on??? Determine which band will advance to the next round below!

VOLBEAT VS. IN THIS MOMENTVolbeat vs ITM

Depending on who you ask, these bands either represent the future of pop-metal… or the death of rock n’ roll. But this much is clear: they’re both really, really popular, and seem to pick up new fans by the day. Which one is actually deserving of their hype? You decide!!!
