Hey Saigon Kick Fans, Get in Here! New Music From Jason Bieler

Saigon Kick guitarist and co-vocalist Jason Bieler has been keeping busy by producing bands and running his record label since the Kick’s demise, but last year he resurfaced with some new music of his own under the Owl Stretching moniker. And it was pretty good! You can definitely hear the Saigon Kick influence all over it. Jason’s vocals should sound pretty familiar since he handled leads on the band’s swansong Water after Matt Kramer left the band and his voice was featured prominently on all their prior work as well.

Jason just released a new song called “Keep Calm and Carry On” and it might be the best Owl Stretching entry yet. It’s SO Saigon Kick-y — with the pseudo-funky guitar riffs and layered, harmonized vocals — but the modern production really make the track sound big and beefy in a way Saigon Kick’s music never could.

Not sure if a proper Owl Stretching release is planned for the future, but the reunited Saigon Kick have a couple of shows left in 2013. Catch them if you can; we did in NYC and enjoyed every minute of it.
