Noisey Takes a Humorous Look at England’s Metal Sub-Culture

This is our kind of video report — and not just because someone is wearing a MetalSucks t-shirt in it.

Part five of Noisey’s Big Night Out video series focusing on different sub-cultures in the UK club scene takes the piss out of some metalhead club-goers at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester. The style of the “documentary” is humorous, in that the show’s host Clive Martin is mostly making fun of everyone in the video with subtle sarcasm. But his outsider’s take is strikingly accurate; his appraisal that metalheads “accept you for who you are, as long as who you are respects the rules of the pit” hits the nail on the head, and his categorization of the social order of metalheads from “the metalheads, the kings of the jungle” to “the screamo kids with their fitted caps, fresh sleeve tats and flesh plugs the size of oreos” to, of course, the rare metal woman (lol) is aces all around.
