Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” Played on Chinese Guzheng

The guzheng is one of those instruments you’ve probably seen before but don’t know what it’s called. Or maybe I’m just a big dummy and everyone already knew what it was called beside me. Regardless, this video of a woman named Michelle Kwan using the instrument to cover GN’R’s “Sweet Child O’ Mine” is pretty neat. The guitar solo (or I guess the guzheng solo) is especially impressive My only real complaint is that her decision to dress up like Axl Rose makes zero sense; clearly, she should be wearing a top hat and keeping a cigarette perpetually dangling from lips. I mean, duh.

In related news, a friend just called to tell me that Dj Slashba is walking up and down Hollywood Boulevard begging every Asian he sees to cover “This I Love” on the zither.
