A “Deathwish” for Pro-Pain

Pro-Pain

I have no idea what the perception of Pro-Pain was in the early and mid ’90s because I was completely oblivious to anything coming out of the hardcore scene at that point. But if we take noted industry experts like Sergeant D at face value (and why wouldn’t we?) then we can go on the premise that Pro-Pain were a B-level “band that was pretty good but nobody gave a fucking shit about.”

Pro-Pain - The Final RevolutionThat assessment makes sense and seems like it still holds true — every time I get a new Pro-Pain record in my inbox (which has now happened five times since MetalSucks launched) I find myself bobbing my head because HOT DAMN, THOSE RIFFS! Instantly catchy and groovable. Yet the band doesn’t seem to get much love in the press, and though I know they deserve more I still haven’t been able to motivate myself to write about them.

So, speaking of THOSE RIFFS, here’s the new video for their new song “Deathwish.” The album from whence it came, The Final Revolution, contains song after song in the same vein — crushable mosh all the way through. Not gonna change the game, but it’ll get your head banging. It comes out on January 21 in North America via Steamhammer/SPV.
