Video: The Dumbest Stagedive Ever

The only thing more exhilarating than watching someone pull off an awesome stage dive is watching someone totally flub a horrible stage dive. Truly, few non-musical aspects of a concert are more entertaining than, for example, watching some fat dude’s life flash before his eyes as he realizes the entire crowd has parted like the Red Sea for Moses, and has absolutely no intention of catching him. Fat Dude, meet Floor; Floor, Fat Dude.

But this is so stupid I’m not even sure I find it funny, especially in light of the fact that people were injured as a result.

American rapper George Watsky lept from a lighting rig thirty-five feet in the air — the equivalent of three stories! — during a performance as part of the Vans Warped Tour UK this past weekend. The crowd, needless to say, wasn’t having it, and everyone promptly got the hell out of the way. Watsky still nailed some concertgoers on the way down, though, breaking a girl’s arm and injuring another man’s back. Watsky himself had to be carried out on a stretcher, as seen in this photo from The Daily Mail:

And here’s video of the actual stage dive itself, courtesy of Metal Injection:

Watsky has since posted the following apology (and, uh, vow to continue touring) on his Facebook page:
