Christmas has come early from Robb Flynn! As part of the journals he’s been releasing that center around the making of Through The Ashes Of The Empire (now almost ten years old!), he’s unveiled upon the world a medley of four covers that were recorded at the band’s performance on December 5th, 2004 at the Brixton Academy in London. Astute Machine Head superfans surely know that this concert was later released as the Elegies DVD… but these covers were left off.

The medley includes Sepultura‘s “Territory,” Pantera’s “A New Level” and “Walk,” Metallica’s “Seek And Destroy” and Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper.” Flynn admits to some sloppiness:

These covers are “LOOSE” if ya know what I’m sayin? We were well lubricated by this point on that particular night, and as such, did A LOT of covers. This show was a blast.
