Valient Thorr’s Valient Himself to Appear on New Mastodon Album?

That would certainly seem to be what this Instagram post from Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds suggests. It came with the caption, “doin some sweet gang vox with my boy.”

It is, of course, entirely possible that the duo were recording gang vocals for some project other than Mastodon… but we do know that Mastodon are in the studio right now, so I’d wager this is, in fact, for the new Mastodoffering.

As a huge fan of both Mastodon and Mr. Himself, this warms the cockles of my heart. It would be sweet if Valient got to do a little more than just gang vocals, but I can tell you one thing: even if all he does are the gang vocals, he will make those gang vocals 110% more rockin’. Do you know what I’m talkin’ about?!?!
