Watch This Septicflesh In-Studio Video with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

0

Well, this is a pleasant surprise: I went into “The Making of Titan (Part 1)” — the first video in a series documenting the making of Septicflesh’s new album Titan (duh) — expecting the usual “making of” video treatment, you know, with guys sitting in a studio recording drums and guitars to a click track, a cut to a band member talking about how “This is definitely the best record we’ve ever done!” and a clip of a producer sitting behind the board twiddling knobs tapping buttons and chopping up digital audio.

Instead I got nearly four minutes of the Prague Philharmonic laying down positively epic sounding tracks. Recording with an orchestra is nothing new for Septicflesh, but that’s just the beginning: guitarist/composer Christos Antoniou explains that the orchestra was so big they had to record it in two sessions, and, for the first time, Titan will see the band working with a children’s choir. Album’s gonna be epic — definitely looking forward to this one. No release date yet, but the band does have some tour dates coming up in Japan and Australia; dates here.
