Update, 3:22 pm: Lambesisgoat have updated their original story, and are now reporting that Lambesis “could serve anywhere up to nine years, which means he could skate with as little as probation (though that seems highly unlikely),” and that “The duration of prison time was apparently not defined in the deal.” Sentencing will take place May 2.

It looks like the Tim Lambesis legal drama may finally be coming to a conclusion.

What we know right now is that Lambesis is going to prison for nine years following his arrest last year for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife. But the details surrounding that sentence are a little hazy, right now. According to Lambesisgoat, the As I Lay Dying vocalist has cut a plea deal with prosecutors, while NBC San Diego (via Metal Injection) says simply that Lambesis “pleaded guilty.” Metal Insider reported in September that Lambesis faced up to nine years in prison for the initial charges against him, and the fact that this sentence wasn’t lowered any suggests that he did not strike a plea bargain.

Hopefully all of this will be cleared up soon. But it is safe to say that Austrian Death Machine fans who paid for in-person prizes are gonna hafta wait a spell to collect.
