Existential Animals

Big news here at the MetalSucks Mansion: our own Dave Mustein (his parents call him “Mark”) has started a band called Existential Animals, and that band is about to release a new EP, Surrealithand head out on their first tour with fellow prog metallers Wings Denied! Says Mr. Mustein himself:

“Existential Animals started as a solo project, but turned into a live project because it’s super fun. All writing consists of me hunched over Line 6 hardware and computers in my bedroom. Wings Denied’s guitarist is playing bass for us on this tour.”

And as if that wasn’t cool enough, select dates will also include Artificial Brain, Warforged, and Lorelei! Here are all the dates:

3/18 – Akron, OH @ Annabell’s (Wings Denied only)
3/19 – TBA (Wings Denied only)
3/20 – Oberlin, OH @ The ‘Sco (with Artificial Brain and Tithe)
3/21 – Fort Wayne, IN @ O’Sullivan’s
3/22 – Chicago, IL @ Ye Olde Town Inn (with Warforged)
3/24 – TBA
3/25 – TBA
3/26 – Columbia, SC @ New Brookland Tavern
3/27 – Raleigh, NC (with Lorelei)
3/28 – Greensboro, NC @ Somewhere Else Tavern
3/29 – Springfield, VA @ Empire (with TesseracT, no Existential Animals)

Surrealith  comes out March 25. You can stream the song “The Zanclean Deluge” below, or get it as a free download on Existential Animals’ Bandcamp page, where you can also download their old demo EP for free. This is exactly the kinda crazy-spazzy-techy prog metal MetalSucks Maniacs adore, so we’re confident you’ll eat it right up. Enjoy!

Meanwhile, Wings Denied’s new single, “In Search of Sunrise,” has just debuted at Metal Injection; listen here. And don’t forget to go see Dave out on tour and tell him what idiots his bosses at MetalSucks are! We’re sure he’ll greatly appreciate it.
