The Intersphere - Relations in the Unseen

The Intersphere’s new album Relations in the Unseen — the German outfit’s fourth — might be the best album I’ve heard all year.

Got your attention?

Here’s the thing: it’s not metal. There are plenty of heavy moments, sure, but I don’t think much of an argument could be made for all but a few metallic undertones, so if all you eat for breakfast are Br00tal-O’s then you oughtta steer clear and keep that snark to yourself. However, if you like high-minded, catchy rock with proggy tendencies — think Muse, Biffy Clyro, Dredg — I will personally guarantee you’re going to love The Intersphere.

“Origin Unknown” is a bit of an odd track to premiere on a metal site, but we were late to the party in our extreme zest to share an exclusive with the world, so it’s what we’ve got; it’s not that heavy, but it’s still a fantastic song. Further listening: check out the album’s title track on their Facebook page for a bit more of an energetic number, or watch it in the live/studio video embedded below.

Relations in the Unseen comes out on March 18th; order it here.
