Akani Kid

Akani, the new Swedish supergroup featuring vocalist Jorge Rosado (Merauder), guitarists Anders Björler  (At the Gates, ex-The Haunted) and Daniel Antonsson (Dimension Zero, ex-Soilwork, ex-Dark Tranquillity), bassist Victor Brandt (Entombed, ex-Satyricon) and drummer Anders Lowgren (Dead Reprise), have released another new song. It’s called “Slither,” and if we’re being honest (and why shouldn’t we be… we’re pals, right?), I don’t dig it quite as much as I did “Who’s to Blame?”, the first song the band released. I called that song a “larger-than-life, anthemic Swedecore tune;” “Slither” leans more heavily on the “core” and a little further away from the “Swede.”

Still, it’s pretty good! We’ve definitely heard worse songs today, haven’t we?

Check out “Slither” below. It will appear on Akani’s four-track 7″, Santa Muerte, which is scheduled for a May release via Demons Run Amok Records.
