Comedian Patton Oswalt Defends Nickelback and Creed

One of my favorite stand-up comedians of all time, Patton Oswalt, debuted a new special on Comedy Central last night. It’s called Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time, and you should definitely check it out if you get a chance to do so — it starts off a little slow, but sure enough, by the end, I was laughing so hard that I was struggling to breathe.

And, yes, I know, MetalSucks isn’t a comedy blog. But there is a bit in the special where Oswalt defends shitty bands like Nickelback and Creed — and not only is it hilarious, but it actually makes a solid point.

Alas, I can’t seem to find a clip from the special itself, but Oswalt used to same bit on a recent Conan appearance. Watch below:

So, like I said, some sound logic Mr. Oswalt is using here. I’m going to continue to bitch about horrible bands anyway, but sound logic nonetheless!
