Meet your new favorite band: Washington, D.C. quartet Gloom. This band hit us up about their new, self-titled EP a little while back, and we’ve basically been obsessed with them ever since. The band’s genre-bending brand of towering, savage blackened death groove is so overwhelming, so powerful that it’s guaranteed to do things to your head: get stuck in it, and completely fucking obliterate it. So when they asked us to debut a track from that EP, “Unrequited,” we naturally jumped at the chance!

Turn your speakers ALL THE WAY UP, then blast “Unrequited” below. The Gloom EP, which was produced by Wretched drummer Marshall Wieczorek, comes out June 24, and features cover art by Steven Mercado (The Dillinger Escape Plan). As soon as you fall noggin-over-ass in love with Gloom — and you will fall for them, hard — start keeping up with ’em via Facebook and Bandcamp. Also, if you live in the Baltimore area: the band plays a show with The Wayward on May 3.  Make sure you check it out!!!
