Wovenwar large Band photoBetween Devil You Know, Killer Be Killed, and Wovenwar, 2014 may go down as “The Year of Debut Albums Which Arrived with Ridiculously High Expectations.” At this point, we have some idea of how those first two bands ultimately fared once unveiled for the masses, but we’re still a few months away from knowing how things will shake out for Wovenwar… but only insofar as the reception for their initial release goes. No one should have the slightest doubt as to what a Wovenwar show will be like, ’cause the band is basically Oh, As I Lay Sleeping. Granted, vocalist Shane Blay is usually tied to a guitar in Oh, Sleeper, but learning that it’s okay to move around the stage more freely than he might with his other band is really the only potential hiccup these dudes face. Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that the AILD dudes put on a killer show.

So, good news: dates have begun to leak out for Wovenwar’s first tour, on which they’ll be playing support for Black Label Society, alongside Kyng. I dunno why BLS is the band taking all these other bands out on tour, but I guess Killer Be Killed are now obligated to hit the road with Zakk Wylde and his berserkers at some point.
