Decibel Announces NYC Anniversary Shows with Amon Amarth, Skeletonwitch, Sabaton, Vallenfyre, and Evoken

Well, I guess that rumor about an Amon Amarth/Skeletonwitch/Sabaton tour wasn’t a rumor — because our friends over at Decibel have just announced  that they’ll celebrate their tenth anniversary with not one but TWO shows, both to take place in NYC on the same night, one of which will feature Amon Amarth and Sabaton, the other of which will feature Skeletonwitch.

The Amon Amarth/Sabaton show will also feature recent flex disc contributors Vallenfyre’s first U.S. appearance, which pretty much makes it can’t miss — I mean, not only does MetalSucks love this band, but so does Goatwhore’s Ben Falgoust, so you know they’re awesome. That gig will take place at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square.

Meanwhile, Skeletonwitch will play a more intimate show with Evoken at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, MetalSucks’ home away from home. That’s already a big deal — Saint Vitus is a much smaller venue than Skeletonwitch usually play these days — but a press release promises that a third band will be added to the bill soon, and given the caliber of all these other acts, you can expect it to be someone awesome.

Ticket info will be released Friday, but I suspect the two shows won’t overlap, so that fans can attend both. (Well… some fans. Like I said, Saint Vitus can’t house nearly as many people as the Best Buy Theater can.) This is an extremely extreme way to commemorate the birth of North America’s finest metal magazine… it’s sure to be a killer time.

While we wait for more details, here’s the awesome poster for the two shows:

I know at least one of you will get the gag, but for the Vince Neilsteins of the world…
