He Is Legend Heavy Fruit

If you’re into He Is Legend, then these last months of reunion shows and studio updates have been a thrilling relief and a promise of future ecstasy, like the feeling of reconnecting with your hot girlfriend that has suddenly moved back from Australia. Each day is a rediscovery of hopes, exploration of shared experience, and silent rebuilding of trust. Plus, titties that you’d been missing (so to speak). With He Is Legend, we’re ready to love again.

And if you’re not into He Is Legend, then this is all noise about a random non-brutal band that is always raved about (because they’re extremely awesome) and whose fate is always bemoaned (because they’re shockingly un-heralded). On behalf of the ravers and moaners, may I apologize? We must be annoying you all to shit by now. Forgive us.

But hey, the end is near: On Wednesday, He Is Legend announced that the moment of reunion truth shall be August 19, the date of their new album’s release. Yep, that’s put-up/shut-up time, when HIL will either reside among Atheist, Gorguts, and Carcass via an awesome post-hiatus classic — or not. From the album which we now know to be 13 tracks at 55 minutes and titled Heavy Fruit, they unveiled “Something Witchy” in January; here in mid-June arrives “Miserable Company” (below). Elsewhere on the tracklist, we notice no fourth installment of the “China White” series (think “The Unforgiven” but awesome), that the album version of “Something Witchy” may be different (it’s re-titled “Something, Something, Something Witchy”), and that there’s at least one song titled marked by arch-cleverness. Review soon! Tour dates here :)

He Is Legend’s fourth album Heavy Fruit is out via Tragic Hero on August 9. Pre-order here
