So the other day, after King 810 posted court documentation regarding the arrests of vocalist David Gunn and bassist Eugene Gill on their Facebook page, a lot of people noticed the duo had apparently been charged with assault with intent to murder, which seemed like an “upgrade” from initial reports that were charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

But no! This is not the case! The PRP got this statement from a rep for the band:

“David Gunn and Gene Gill are charged with simple assault stemming from a bar fight incident last October. The band are scheduled for pre-trial this Monday [June 23] in Flint [Michigan]. Other than that we are not allowed to talk about the facts of the case.”

“Simple assault.” Sure, sure. Probably not so simple for the dude they beat up, but, y’know, phew!, at least it wasn’t attempted murder.

Still, even with their upgrade downgraded, Gunn and Gill face up to ten years in prison and/or fines of up to $5,000 each. So they’re not out of the woods yet.

Also: King 810 are supposed to be part of this summer’s Mayhem Fest, which kicks off two weeks from yesterday. At this point, I’d think their participation must be in doubt, no?

Also also: I finally figured out who King 810 remind me of!
