North Carolina Venue Forced to Temporarily Close After Young and in the Way Spray Audience with Blood

Carrie LABYoung and in the Way continue to earn their title of “World’s Scariest Metal Band“: not to be outdone by Watain, the Charlotte quartet apparently sprayed the crowd with animal blood during a recent performance at the Lexington Avenue Brewery in Asheville, NC. And according to Ashvegas.com, the result was, uh, maybe a little bit less-than-positive for the venue:

“Signs up at the Lexington Avenue Brewery in downtown Asheville announce an unexpected closure for the big craft brewery, restaurant, bar and music venue on Lexington Avenue. It’s one of the biggest entertainment venues on one of Asheville’s most beloved downtown streets.

“The signs say: ‘Sorry for the inconvenience, we are closed for the next few days for reasons beyond our control. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you again soon.’

Apparently, the temporary closure is so LAB can, quite literally, clean up YAITW’s mess. I guess having blood all over your dining establishment is frowned upon by the local health department or something. Squares.

ANYWAY, I’m trying to remember the last time a metal band caused a venue to be shut down for a number of days (e.g., not just while security vacates the premises due to a fight or something). These dudes really ARE scary, aren’t they?
