This past July, the editors of MetalSucks hand-picked five unsigned bands from an open application process to record with producer Will Putney at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, NY, Converse’s completely free, state-of-the-art recording studio. In the weeks leading up to the recording sessions we previewed each band, and in the coming weeks we’ll be premiering the finished tracks from all five! Today we feature Extinction A.D. from Long Island.

If you’ve ever seen the modern cinematic classic that is Punisher: War Zone, then you no doubt recall the uproarious opening scene, in which our brave hero decapitates an aging, wheelchair bound mafia don, and then immediately breaks the neck of the don’s recently widowed wife. Extinction A.D.’s new jam, “Cloaks the Deceit,” had a working title of “The Punisher,” and although it may not be as witty as that now-immortal sequence, it’s just as brutal. We’ve said time again that these dudes are picking up where classic thrash outfits like Slayer and Sepultura left off, and this song more than reinforces that point. In fact, if any of the remaining members of Slayer or Sepultura had any sense, they’d just hire Extinction A.D. to write their next album. That Good Fight signed the band the very same week they were in the studio with us is about as surprising as the fact that the sun came up this morning. These dudes are wicked, and they surely have big things in store for their future. Play this shit LOUD:
