Ne Obliviscaris - CitadelIt’s a good year for Ne Obliscaris and their fans: not only did the Australian prog outfit just successfully crowdfund $86,000 for a world tour, but they’ll be releasing a new album in November. Huzzah!

“Curator” comes at us today via Terrorizer, and it’s hard to imagine any NeO fans feeling disappointed by the first new track we’re hearing from the band since 2012. The song has everything you’d want: a long, dramatic intro, catchy riffs, proggy weirdness, lots of violin and an appropriately epic crescendo to close it all out. Stream the track right here. Its full title is “Painters of The Tempest Pt II, Movement III: Curator,” but let’s just stick with “Curator” for now, mmkay?

One complaint: the audio quality is REALLY crappy on this stream — it sounds extremely thin and washy, like a 128kbps MP3. Can’t tell if this is a recording issue or just the way the file was encoded, although I’m sure hoping it’s the latter.

Citadel comes out on November 7th via Season of Mist. Order here.
