In This Moment “Sick Like Me”: Siqq?

In This Moment have announced both their major label debut and the color of the dress Maria Brink will be wearing for the next year: Black Widow drops on November 18 via Atlantic.
With the announcement comes the first single, “Sick Like Me,” the promotional art for which shows Maria Brink blowing a spider limb, because Christ forbid In This Moment stop sexualizing Brink for like ten seconds and in any way acknowledge that there are other people in this band besides her.
All silliness aside… I actually like the song! The riff is hella-groovy — it sounds like Gone Forever-era God Forbid — and after one listen, I instantaneously found the chorus stuck in my head. Even the cheesier touches — the filter over the vocals in the verse, the electronic orchestra, the sirens beneath the breakdown, the lyrics, etc. — don’t bother me as much as I’d think they would. “Sick Like Me” is pop-metal I’d be fully willing to get behind even if Maria Brink looked like Byron Davis.
The band will also tour this fall with Starset, Twelve Foot Ninja and 3 Pill Morning. Twelve Foot Ninja! They’re terrific! I haven’t even heard of those other bands, or if I have, I don’t remember having heard about them. In any case, there are no tour dates yet, but there is this poster featuring a cartoon version of Maria Brink’s boobs:
