Maid Myriad are NOT your typical metal band — hell, you might not even classify them as metal at all. If you’re looking for demonic vocals and blastbeats, look elsewhere. On the other hand, if the idea of 3 venturing into heavier, more alt-metal territory is appealing to you — and it damn well should be! — then you are going to love Akron, OH’s Maid Myriad. The music contained in “Be Careful What You Wish For” might be described as “Coheed-esque” — it’s massive, melodic, introspective, and tortured, like a wonderful dream that quickly metamorphasizes into the kind of nightmare that continues to rattle and haunt you even after you awaken, stuck to your psyche like gum to the bottom of a shoe. Little wonder we became so smitten with the song from the moment we heard it!
