Creed’s Scott Stapp Misses Court Hearing, May Be Forced Into Psychiatric Hold

scott stapp men in white coatsThe Saga of Scott Stapp just keeps getting more and more delicious. First, he released a very sad video (which has since been yanked) in which he revealed that he’s broke and living at a Holiday Inn. Then he launched a crowdfunding campaign (which has also since been yanked) to raise almost $500,000 for the purpose of making a new solo album and writing his first novel. Then his Creed bandmate, bassist Brian Marshall, confirmed what we pretty much all suspected: that Stapp is on drugs. Add the singer’s impending divorce to this list of woe, and you have the best sitcom of the new season.

The latest development in the ongoing dramedy? Well, according to Gossip Extra

“A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy was sent to the Holiday Inn Express on Glades Road in Boca Raton with a summons for Stapp to appear before Judge Martin Colin. Stapp, however, never showed up.

“Stapp’s family believes he is living at the hotel.

“Because the summons is a civil matter, authorities are not actively looking for Stapp.

“However, he could be held in contempt of court if he ever turns up in the courthouse on Delray Beach’s Atlantic Avenue, and he risks being forced into psych hold without being able to argue against it.”

I’m a little bummed that Stapp would have to willingly show up at court for his being dragged away by men in white coats to be a possibility. Maybe there’s some way he can be lured into the courthouse with, like, a trail of meth or something, or perhaps I can fly down to Florida and shoot him with a tranquilizer dart and leave him on the courthouse steps. Just spitballing here, I’m not a mental health professional or anything like that.
