Are you a fan of Gojira, Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse? Check out LifelessOne, a band that deftly combines stylistic elements from all three of the aforementioned bands and injects their own flair into the equation. What’s most impressive is the band’s tightness (hopefully not just studio trickery) and emphasis on good songwriting (certainly not just studio trickery). I have no idea how to describe Fugle. They’re proggy, they’re experimental and they’re instrumental — and they’re vaguely metal — but they’re really all over the map stylistically. That’s probably why I’m digging their material so much — these Danes absolutely cannot be pigeonholed. Don’t let that “instrumental” part scare you; there are no djentisms to be found anywhere near here. Stream Fugle below.
