1983 Budweiser Commercial Demonstrates That Dio Could Make Anything Cool
Major kudos to Toilet ov Hell (by way of Metal Injection) for digging up this 1983 Budweiser radio ad, in which the legendary Ronnie James Dio slides the beer company’s famous slogan — “This Bud’s for You!” — into his classic “Rainbow in the Dark.” This is the kind of thing which should irritate the hell out of me, and ten years ago, it probably would have. Now? This could just be my sentimental fondness for the late Mr. Dio, but it seems to me that there are far more offensive ways to earn a paycheck.
