tumblr_nj9algAe0a1rhh3a1o1_500Living Colour have been covering Jimi Hendrix’s classic “Crosstown Traffic” for years and years now — they first recorded it for the 1993’s Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix — but a recent performance of the song on the Shiprocked cruise was extra super-duper special, ’cause Testament’s Alex Skolnick joined the band onstage. Watching Skolnick and fellow guitar god Vernon Reid trade solos is just as thrilling as you’d imagine. If someone can figure out a way to get a Testament/Living Colour tour going, I would not object.

Watch:

On that very same cruise, Living Colour also performed their breakthrough hit, “Cult of Personality,” with Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon. You can watch that killer performance here. Living Colour’s new album is tentatively scheduled for release later this year.
