Check Out the Trailer for Deathgasm, a Metal-Themed Horror Comedy

So… what movie are you cats most excited about this year? Star Wars: We Promise We Didn’t Let George Lucas Anywhere Near This One? Avengers: License to Print Money? AARP Terminator?

Well, how about Deathgasm, a really rad-looking, metal-themed horror comedy which will play at the film festival portion of this year’s SXSW?

The film is the feature writing/directing debut of Jason Lei Howden, who has previously done visual effects work for Man of Steel, The Wolverine, and two of the three Hobbit movies. Truth be told, effects dudes often make lousy directors… but I’m remaining optimistic about Howden, purely because it would be awesome if this were as awesome as it looks. Also, because he named his production company Metalheads, which is great. Also also, because our pals in Axeslasher are going to be featured in the film. Really, it would just be an all-around win if this movie ruled.

Check out the NSFW trailer for Deathgasm below. If you’re going to SXSW, you can get screening details here. Alas, there’s no release date for the movie yet, but I’m told it’s being released by Dark Sky Films (x), so hopefully we’ll all get to see this thing before the end of 2015.
