Nightrage - The PuritanAnyone in the mood for some truly epic, ripping melodeath? Well, you’re in luck — because today, MetalSucks is debuting “Desperate Vows,” the new single from multi-national outfit Nightrage (with an assist from Lawrence Mackrory, vocalist for Darkane and F.K.Ü.)! The track will appear on the band’s forthcoming sixth album, The Puritan, and demonstrates the band’s unique ability to seamlessly meld elements of power metal and death metal into one gut-punching package. We may not be getting anything good from Mercenary these days, but Nightrage have still got it — and got it in spades.

Says founding guitarist Marios Iliopoulos of the track:

“’Desperate Vows’ is the song on the new album with some hit potential, but it still keeps the root metal Nightrage identity.

“We had the pleasure to work with Lawrence Mackrory from Darkane. I really like his amazing high tones and the metal feelings in his voice. We sometimes like to have some kind of cleaner type of voice tones on our albums, and it proved to be that ‘Desperate Vows’ was the song that was calling for that direction.

“I think we have achieved to create a song that is still metal and really interesting. It has a more hooky chorus with two different voices complementing each other.”
