New Alkaloid Track “The Malkuth Grimoire,” Rips, Grabs and Pulsates with Death Metal Beauty

Alkaloid - The Malkuth GrimoireWe’ve been super-amped on Alkaloid — the death metal supergroup featuring members and ex-members of Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Noneuclid, Necrophagist, God Dethroned, Aborted and more — ever since first learning about them last summer. Thankfully, once music started hitting the Interwebs it more than honored the legacy of the bands from which its members came: “Carbon Phrases” and “Cthulhu” both destroyed and mesmerized with the brutality and technicality you’d expect from this crew of characters.

The third song we’re hearing from their debut, “The Malkuth Grimoire” — which premiered earlier this week on No Clean Singing — is no different. It shouldn’t be shocking that this lineup can create music so simultaneously punishing and catchy, yet it still is: these two characteristics should not, by all logic, be able to be combined so deftly and seamlessly. And how about that groove? DAT GROOVE! Unstoppable. Grab your Zubaz and just start dancing right now, because once you press play you won’t be able to resist.

The Malkuth Grimoire comes out on March 17th and can be pre-ordered here.
