Slayer’s Kerry King Calls Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine “Crazy”
Did you think that Kerry King and Dave Mustaine had buried the hatchet before those Big Four shows a few years back? Well, guess what? You thought wrong!

During a recent interview with Loudwire (below), King was asked about his very brief stint as Megadeth’s guitar player for their first five shows in 1983. This led King to wonder aloud:

“I don’t know how anybody can be in Megadeth for more than a couple of hours, because that guy’s crazy.”

“That guy,” of course, being Mustaine.

Given that the Slayer guitarist has eyes, ears, and a brain, it’s not at all surprising that he feels this way about Mustaine. Still, I wish he’d kept it to himself, or at least been slightly more vague (as his bandmate Tom Araya was in 2013, when he basically blamed the Megadick for the cessation of Big Four shows). Not so much because I find it sad that these two legendary Founding Fathers of Thrash will never get along, because I really have no dog in that fight. I’m just bummed that my TGIFriday’s stock shit the bed after King’s interview went public. After the lauded dining establishment served as the location for the King/Mustaine Peace Accord of 2010, the world’s opinion of that chain of fine eateries skyrocketed. But after Khamenei and Netanyahu failed to reach a settlement after a five-hour wing sesh at TGIFriday’s in Poughkeepsie, NY last month, their domination over the market became less assured. Now, with this new admission from King, everyone is jumping ship just as fast as they can. This is how giants are killed, TGIFriday’s. You really blew it.
