Former AC/DC Drummer Phil Rudd Is Super Sorry, Guys

0

ruddEarlier this year, former AC/DC drummer plead guilty to possession of cannabis (eh) and threatening to kill someone (woah). But according to a recent interview with A Current Affair in Australia, the drummer has learned the error of his ways. Here’s a preview of the episode, with the full video report here:

Some of Rudd’s choice quotes from the interview:

“I’m very disappointed … But, you know, that’s life.”

“There’ll be another tour and another and I’ll be on it. It’ll go until we all die. We’ll probably all have to be dead before it stops.”

“I’ve seen the errors of my ways… It’s onward and upward from here.”

“That’s life?” Dude, you tried to have a hit put out on somebody. That’s not life, that’s megalomania and a very low level of respect for human life. You’re a psychopath.

It’s interesting to compare Rudd’s case and that of As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis. When a younger musician — and a guy with a lot of tattoos and a booming career — has a hit put out on someone, it’s a massive dramatic ordeal. When one of the older, grizzled rocker guys does it, that’s life. You can really see the old sense of rock stare entitlement showing.

The craziest part of all: Rudd expecting to be taken back out on tour. I don’t know, dude, I think your career might be over.
